Gang shooting victim dies

Tuesday, December 11, 2007  |  By Register Staff - Napa Valley Register

The Napa teen shot late Saturday night in what police described as a gang-related incident has died.

Ricardo Gonzalez, 19, died Monday from a gunshot wound to the head he suffered during the incident just before midnight in the 2500 block of Laurel Street, near Avon Street.
Shortly after the shooting, police stopped a vehicle leaving the scene of the crime and later arrested three male teens -- a 15-year-old from Vallejo, a 16-year-old from American Canyon and a 17-year-old from Napa -- on suspicion of criminal street gang fighting, disturbing the peace, providing false information to a police officer and violation of probation.

Police were unable at that time to locate the person responsible for the shooting.

Check back here for more information later in the day.
