According to the California Department of Justice, gang related homicides in the County of Riverside are on the rise.

While this does apply to all of Riverside County, the Coachella Valley has seen it's fair share of gang related crimes in just the last month.

In 2006 13% of the homicides reported in Riverside County were gang related.

State law makers are introducing an initiative that will appear on the November ballot that might help take down these violent gang members who are terrorizing some local neighborhoods.
